A meeting took place with U.S. Senate representatives
The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis hosted a meeting between Deputy Speaker of the Lower House Odiljon Tajiyev and members of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee – Deputy Staff Director of the Committee Andy Olson and Senior Professional Staff Member Hannah Thoburn.
Views were exchanged on the role of parliaments in developing inter-parliamentary relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Regarding the partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States, the parties noted an opportunity to expand mutual ties with new joint projects in IT technologies, labor migration, mining, and geology.

The need to repeal the Jackson–Vanik amendment introduced in 1974 to the U.S. Trade Act, which negatively impacts trade relations between the two countries, was emphasized.
Following the meeting, which was held in a constructive spirit, an agreement was reached to enhance interparliamentary relations.
