On December 26, the Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bahodir Begalov, and representatives of the Agency took part in the 68th online meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Agencies of the CIS member states.

According to the Statistics Agency, the meeting was attended by representatives of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee, the CIS Executive Committee, and the Eurasian Economic Commission.

At the meeting, the work program of the Interstate Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2024, activities on the implementation of the CIS Statistics Development project, a report on the activities of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services for 2020-2023, and preparations for the upcoming 69th meeting of the Council were discussed.

The heads of statistical offices of the CIS member states summed up the results of the year and highly appreciated the work carried out by the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS. The parties agreed to continue implementing the work program of the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS for 2024, activities within the framework of the project “Development of Statistics of the CIS”, and other promising areas of cooperation.
