The DMO Karakalpakstan public association hosted a meeting on the implementation of the project “QR Gastronomic Quality: assessment and improvement of the gastronomic quality of tourist services to increase the attractiveness of Karakalpakstan”.
Heads of restaurants and cafes in Karakalpakstan, as well as representatives of travel companies, attended the event.
The main issues of the project implementation were discussed at the meeting. Views were also exchanged on improving the quality of tourist services.
It was noted that this project aims to further develop tourism in Karakalpakstan by developing and implementing digital and traditional mechanisms for assessing and monitoring service quality, increasing competition among tourism market participants, and creating jobs by transforming the region into an attractive tourist destination. To achieve these goals, the objectives are set to create a unified system for assessing and monitoring the quality of tourist services in Karakalpakstan, develop a mobile application and an online platform for direct collection of tourist reviews to improve the quality of service and customer satisfaction.
Issues of introducing the rapid assessment of the quality of service at tourist facilities using QR codes, organizing a “QR Gastronomic Quality” competition aimed at improving the level of service and encouraging the best industry participants, as well as conducting comprehensive training and internships with the involvement of international specialists, were considered.
Following the event, measures were identified that will be implemented in the future to study and strengthen the gastronomic potential of Karakalpakstan.
