A laboratory for the restoration of handwritten works opens at the National Institute of Arts and Design
According to a signed memorandum with the Association for the Protection and Preservation of Traditional Handicrafts – GESKODER, a laboratory of handwritten works has been opened at the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Arts and Design of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
The goal is to restore ancient manuscripts stored in Uzbekistan’s museums, libraries, and collections, determine the composition of the paper, and preserve it from external influences.
It is planned to train specialists in the restoration and conservation of manuscripts in the laboratory.
