As part of the Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road”, a documentary film project “Uzbekistan Remembers Me” was shown, dedicated to the life and work of the famous Armenian film actor Frunzik Mkrtchyan (1930-1993).
Georgian producer and film director David Bezhitashvili spoke about the project.
Frunzik Mkrtchyan starred in the films of Uzbek and Indian filmmakers “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves” (1979), “The Legend of Love” (1984). During filming, he lived in Uzbekistan and communicated with Uzbek filmmakers.

In 2021, David Bezhitashvili directed the film “India Remembers Me,” which tells about the filming of Indian movies with the participation of Frunzik Mkrtchyan. The next film will be shot as its continuation and will tell about the events in Uzbekistan.
Famous Uzbekistan artists spoke about exciting events that occurred during filming with the participation of Frunzik Mkrtchyan.
These days, preparations for filming began. The film is expected to be released in 2024.
