The premiere of the documentary “Chess World of Uzbekistan” took place in Tashkent.
The documentary film, which tells about the world of chess and the role of Uzbekistan in its development, was directed by Denis Kodzaev and cameraman Alexey Khakimov based on the script of the famous journalist and TV journalist Boris Babayev. This creative project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The film traces the development of the chess game in Uzbekistan from ancient times to the present day.
The film features a grandmaster, FIDE world chess champion in 2004-2005 Rustam Kasimjanov, a five-time world chess champion Viswanathan Anand, international grandmasters Irina Gevorkyan and Murtas Kajgaleyev, as well as young and promising Uzbekistan chess players who successfully perform at the largest international tournaments.

The film tells about the history of the discovery of ancient chess pieces by Japanese archaeologists in many other parts of the country, including Dalverzintepa in Surkhandarya, which means that chess was played in Uzbekistan at the beginning of the II century AD.
