A presentation of a film about a man who became famous for building Sherdor and Tilla-Qori madrasahs on Registan Square was held in Samarkand.
The film is directed by Jahongir Akhmedov, known for his film “Ilhaq”. The event was organized by Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency and Samarkand Region Hokimiyat.
“Bahodir Yalangtush is our national hero. Thanks to him, the whole world can now enjoy the beauty of Registan Square. By his order, two madrasahs – Sherdor and Tilla-Qori – were erected next to the madrasah built by Mirzo Ulugbek in the XV century, two centuries later”, Jahongir Akhmedov noted.
It should be noted that several films have already been shot in Samarkand and about Samarkand over the past few years with the support of the Regional Hokimiyat.
Following the event, Samarkand region’s Hokim Erkinjon Turdimov was presented with a gift edition of the book “Cinema Art of Uzbekistan” by the Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency.
