Participants of the International Forum share their opinions.
As previously reported, the Tashkent International Investment Forum, held on April 27-28 this year, was attended by about two and a half thousand businesspeople from almost sixty countries of the world. UzA correspondent interviewed some participants of the forum.
Murli Padmanabhan, Forum participant (India):
– Business development between the two countries is one of the most effective ways to strengthen cooperation. The fact that such large-scale events are held in Uzbekistan, which gather businesspeople from all over the world on one platform, indicates that special attention is paid to this issue in the country. I visited Uzbekistan five or six years ago. The changes are enormous.
At the forum, it was noted that wide opportunities are opening up for foreign investors, all existing obstacles are being eliminated. This statement attracted the attention of many investors. In particular, businesspeople from India also want to expand their activities by investing in your country. I am also planning to cooperate with Uzbekistan entrepreneurs.
Otabek Nazirov, Director General of the Direct Investment Fund of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
– This year, the number of forum participants has significantly increased, its geography has expanded. The participants discussed a wide range of issues at the sessions. This is a serious achievement.
Before investing money in any country, each investor gets acquainted with the laws of this country, weighs all the pros and cons. In this sense, the investor first of all needs political guarantees. That is, a system should be created in the country that implies reliable protection of investors at the legislative level. The importance of popularizing the experience of developed countries in this matter was emphasized at the session.
Along with the benefits and opportunities, the problems faced by investors were also analyzed at the forum. Uzbekistan has great opportunities, resources and, last but not least, young personnel. These aspects attract investors the most. This event created a platform for a sincere dialogue not only between business representatives, but also members of the government.
Tuğra Gönden, Chairman of Cushman & Wakefield (Türkiye):
– President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held an open dialogue with forum participants and investors. The fact that we are provided with such broad opportunities and benefits made the warmest impression on me, as well as on many others. Uzbekistan has created a free and favorable environment for entrepreneurs and business representatives. Our team provides consulting services to those who want to invest money in a hotel, office or commercial real estate. We share the best practices in this direction, give important recommendations. Today we work mainly with Russian companies. We plan to provide comprehensive support to local and foreign entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan as well. Today's forum brought together representatives of various fields. Many of them have shown interest in our activities.
