A roundtable discussion with the participation of local and foreign officials and experts dedicated to the discussion of the Draft Comprehensive National Financing Strategy was held in Tashkent.

As it was noted, starting in 2021, the Government of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with UNDP, is developing a Comprehensive National Financing Strategy. The main goal of the Strategy is to provide an innovative integrated approach that will allow coordinating public and private sources for financing the Development Strategy of the New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 and in the future contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

It was emphasized that the reforms proposed in the Comprehensive National Financing Strategy should be as effective as possible in the conditions of Uzbekistan.

In her opening remarks, the UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Matilda Dimovska stressed that a Comprehensive National Financing Strategy would make it possible to improve coordination and cooperation between relevant ministries and agencies.

During the session held within the framework of the roundtable discussion, experts expressed opinions on the reforms, directions and tasks provided for in the Draft Comprehensive National Financing Strategy, and also made recommendations for improving this document.
