A diary of a journey participant in the 15th century of the ambassadors of the Timurid Empire to China published in Tashkent

A scientific team of the State Museum of Timurids History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan has prepared and published the “Diary of Journey to China” by Ghiyath Al-Din Naqqash.

This historical book has been prepared for publication as part of the innovative project “Historical geography of Central Asia in the sources of the Timurid era”. The diary of journey to China by Ghiyath Al-Din Naqqash is one of the important written sources on the history of international relations between the Timurid Empire and China.

It contains valuable information about the movement of trade and embassy caravans to Beijing along the newly restored branches of the Great Silk Road between Central Asia and China in the first quarter of the 15th century, about the cities along the way, the reception of ambassadors, the splendor of the imperial palace, the culture of the Chinese people and other historical events and information.

According to historians, Ghiyath Al-Din Naqqash visited China in 1419-1422 with the ambassadors of the Timurid Empire and recorded a journey diary. The diary contains a description of the path traveled by the ambassadors, information about nature, cities, the population of China, their customs, and other details.
