The International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with a delegation led by the Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council, Amirsyah Tambunan.
At the meeting, the Rector of the Academy, Muzaffar Komilov, noted that he was glad to see representatives of the delegation in Uzbekistan, in particular, at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan.
It was also emphasized that the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan is important among other religious education institutions in a comprehensive study of the rich historical, scientific, and spiritual heritage of Islamic science and culture and a deep disclosure of the humanistic nature of the Islamic religion.
The Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Nuriddin Kholiknazarov, dwelled on the ongoing transformations in Uzbekistan and the reform process. Views were exchanged on enhancing partnership and strengthening friendly relations between people of the two countries.
Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council, Amirsyah Tambunan highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in the spiritual and enlightenment sphere and expressed gratitude for the reception.
The parties discussed issues of supporting mutual cooperation with the Indonesian Ulema Council.
