The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin hosted a roundtable discussion on the progress of reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and priority areas of development in 2024.
The event, organized as part of the visit of the Uzbekistan delegation led by the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Feruza Eshmatova to Germany, was attended by deputies of the Bundestag, members of Germany – Uzbekistan Friendship Society, representatives of the business community, experts, journalists, and our compatriots.

According to the Embassy, at the meeting, Ombudsman Feruza Eshmatova and delegation members informed the participants about the changes made to the renewed Constitution of Uzbekistan regarding the protection of human rights. Particular attention was paid to fundamental reforms being implemented in various areas, their role and significance in building a New Uzbekistan.

As noted by the Chairman of the Bundestag “Germany – Central Asia” parliamentary group, Mr. Schmidt, Uzbekistan today is developing at a rapid pace, achieving a stable increase in the standard of living of the population and creating broad conditions for investors in the country’s most outstanding achievement. The deputy said that Germany is ready to support the reforms in Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that such events serve to enhance bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Germany. The visit of the parliamentary delegation to Germany to familiarize the German side with changes in legislation and the work being carried out in Uzbekistan to build a legal and strong social state is of great importance in all respects. This will help open up new opportunities for developing multilateral relations between the two countries.
