A Cultural Evening in Beijing
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing hosted a cultural evening entitled “Uzbekistan and China: Dialogue between children.” The event’s main goal was to introduce children of Uzbekistan and China to the culture, art, and traditions of the two peoples and to form a friendly dialogue between them.
The evening was attended by Chinese schoolchildren and their parents, embassy staff and members of their families, and media representatives.
The guests were informed about the country’s history and culture, the ancient and beautiful cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, national dishes, great scientists such as Ibn Sina, Al-Khwarizmi, Beruni, and Ulugbek, and their contribution to world science.

As part of the cultural evening, Chinese schoolchildren read poetry and performed Chinese national dances and music. They also learned to say the Uzbek words “hello”, “friend”, and “good”. In turn, the children of Uzbekistan also performed national songs, dances, and poems, delighting their Chinese peers.
