A solemn event dedicated to October 1, Teachers and Mentors Day, was held at the Palace of International Forums “Uzbekistan”.

The event participants first visited the Alley of Litterateurs in Tashkent and got acquainted with the large-scale updates and transformations being carried out in Uzbekistan in education.

The Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova noted that the attention paid to the education sector in Uzbekistan is becoming increasingly widespread. Reforms are being implemented to bring state educational standards and curricula into line with world standards, popularizing advanced teaching methods and experience of Presidential Schools in general education institutions, further improving the professional knowledge and potential of teachers, and strengthening their status in society. All this is an essential factor in improving the quality of preschool and school education.

At the gala event, a group of teachers working in education institutions in Uzbekistan and foreign teachers were awarded the “Khalq talimi alochisi” and “Khalq talimi fidoisi” badges.

At the ceremony, the head of the Social Development Department of the Presidential Administration, Odil Abdurakhmanov, read out the festive congratulations of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to teachers and mentors of Uzbekistan.

It was emphasized that in recent years, enormous opportunities have been created for teachers and educators in Uzbekistan. In particular, their salaries were increased 1.5 times, and the number of documents kept by school teachers was sharply reduced. The Law “On the Status of Teachers” was adopted, aimed at strengthening the status of teachers in society and even more reliable protection of their rights and interests. Administrative liability for interfering in the professional activities of a teacher or preventing him from performing his official duties has also been strengthened.

At the gala evening, songs and melodies were performed about teachers and mentors, glorifying the reforms taking place in the country, attention to youth, and peaceful and prosperous life.
