A country where friendship and solidarity are honored

At the initiative of the Head of state, July 30 is widely celebrated as the International Day of Friendship. As part of the Friendship Festival, a ceremonial event dedicated to the presentation of the “Friendship of Peoples” badge was held in Tashkent.

Representatives of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries, national cultural center activists, the general public, and creative intelligentsia were invited to the event.

Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov read Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s congratulations on the International Day of Friendship.

As noted in the congratulatory message, in creating the New Uzbekistan, priority is given to ensuring tolerance, harmony, and solidarity because in Uzbekistan, friendship and brotherhood have been revered as the highest values since time immemorial. It is noteworthy that today representatives of different nations and nationalities work as members of a single family and show dedication, contributing to the development of a renewing Uzbekistan.

At the ceremony, Rustam Kurbanov, Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries, presented a group of compatriots with the “Friendship of Peoples” badge.

The awardees expressed gratitude to the Head of state for his noble initiatives to strengthen peace, interethnic friendship, and solidarity in the country.

The ceremony was attended by the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Muzaffar Komilov, and the Head of the Department of Social Development of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Odil Abdurakhmanov.
