A videoconference under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dedicated to ensuring price stability for basic types of food products and creating their reserve, continues.

The Head of the state noted the tasks and new opportunities in the sphere.

First of all, it is necessary:

– reduce imports due to the additional 20 thousand hectares allocated this year and 100 thousand hectares of acreage that will be allocated in the future; 

– increase the sowing of food products to at least 300,000 hectares. The planting of crops on food lands will be determined by the Horticulture Agency.

– Starting September 15, on the recommendation of the hokim’s assistants, authorized persons have been instructed to arrange the allocation of unsecured loans for up to 150 million UZS for seeds, fertilizers, fuel, plant protection products and working capital for vegetables, leguminous and oilseed crops, – President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted. – At the same time, it is allowed to allocate half of these funds in cash. An additional 300 billion UZS will be allocated to the Horticulture Agency for this purpose.

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture have been instructed to introduce a completely new system of crediting fruit and vegetable products. From now on, 50 percent of the cost of crop insurance will be covered by the state for clusters and farmers growing potatoes, vegetables and oilseeds. When allocating food loans, such as cotton and grain, an insurance policy is considered credit security. This will serve as an incentive for our farmers.
