The President of Uzbekistan signed the Decree “On measures for the effective organization of public administration in culture and tourism within the framework of administrative reform”.

The decree establishes the responsibilities of the Ministry of Culture and the Tourism Development Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.

According to the document, state institutions Uzbektheatre and Cultural and Enlightenment Center will be created in the structure of the Ministry of Culture. The decree also approved an Action Plan to deepen reforms and transform the system’s activities in culture and art.

From September 1, 2023, modern libraries and cinemas will be gradually created, and a system of paid special courses on musical instruments and singing will be introduced.

In 2024-2026, the work on organizing and holding international festivals, forums, and cultural events at the republican level will be gradually transferred to the private sector.

In addition, cultural centers and information systems for the delivery of literature for blind people, a special video platform for the presentation of audiovisual works to the public, and the Cholg‘u.uz mobile application for a preliminary acquaintance of young people with national musical works and instruments will be developed.
