President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s participation in the First Summit of the Board of Peace in Washington at the invitation of the President of the United States of America is, without exaggeration, a clear confirmation of the high international authority of Uzbekistan and the consistency of its peaceful foreign policy.

Political scientist Adham Mamajonov shared his opinion on the initiatives announced by the Head of State at this summit, as well as on the development of Uzbekistan – American relations with UzA correspondent.
– At the beginning of his speech, the President firmly stated his support for the initiative to establish the Board of Peace and confirmed Uzbekistan’s readiness to contribute to its effective activities, – says Mr. Mamajonov. – The armed conflict has been going on in Palestine for several decades. Tragically, thousands of civilians have become victims of the conflict over the past two years. To resolve the situation peacefully, Uzbekistan has consistently called for the cessation of hostilities and the resumption of political dialogue. In particular, on September 23, 2025, at the 80th Anniversary Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the President of Uzbekistan once again drew the attention of the international community to this problem, called on states for solidarity, open dialogue and close partnership, reaffirming their commitment to the principle of “Two States for Two Peoples” in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
The initiatives put forward were also reflected at the First Summit of the Board of Peace in the United States. In his speech, the President stressed that the Board’s activities should help create favorable conditions for the economic and social reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. Any external management mechanisms must rely on the unconditional support of the local population. Confidence was also expressed that the coordinated efforts of all participants in the process would create the necessary conditions for the restoration of this territory and the sustainable stabilization of the post-conflict situation as soon as possible.
The specific practical proposals of the Head of State on Uzbekistan’s readiness to make a feasible contribution to the construction of residential buildings, kindergartens, schools, and medical institutions in the region deserve special attention.
Following his speech, the President stressed that the Board’s meeting was a clear manifestation of international solidarity and a shared desire to improve the situation in the Middle East.
The President of Uzbekistan’s call for the creation of a region in New Gaza with a stable economy and decent living conditions for the population is a vivid reflection of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy, grounded in the principles of peace and equality.
