A briefing was held at the Press Center of the Central Election Commission with the participation of the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Z. Nizomkhodjayev. The CEC Chairman informed about the preparatory work for the elections and the beginning of the voting process.
– On July 9, at 8:00 am, at all 10,784 polling stations organized in our country, the National Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan sounded, and voters began to vote”, Mr. Nizomkhodjayev said. – At the same time, 56 polling stations established at 39 representative offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries began to work. First, voting began at polling stations established at the representations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan, South Korea, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, India, and the Russian Far East.
Regular communication has been established between the Central Election Commission and all constituencies and polling stations.
This year, more than 19.5 million voters are on the voter list.
At the same time, the CEC Chairman presented information about the international observers participating in the elections. It was noted that about 800 observers from 15 international organizations and 47 foreign countries are directly following this political event.
More than 53,000 local observers from political parties that have nominated their candidates for the presidency and from civil society institutions are directly observing the elections. Elections are covered by 1,400 representatives of local and foreign media.
