Chairman of the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umid Shadiyev met with the head of China Tourism Academy, Ms. Lina Zhong.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation. According to the Committee, guests from Uzbekistan got acquainted with the work of the Tourism Big Data Platform system developed at the Academy. It allows online monitoring of more than 300 indicators and 140 industry-relevant indices. The Big Data laboratory developed the platform at the Academy, which was created jointly with the travel agency Ctrip in 2017. It aims to use macro and micro data, market experience, and professional knowledge for tourism development.

At the meeting, plans were announced to create a similar platform in Uzbekistan. It is intended to test its capabilities to assess the state of the local tourism industry.
