According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, 80 experts from China arrived in Kyrgyzstan to begin preparations for the development of a feasibility study for the construction of the China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway.
The head of the ministry Erkinbek Osoev met with representatives of the first design and survey institute of the China Railway Construction Corporation.

At the meeting with a Chief Engineer from China, team leader Jun Geng, the parties noted the need for further intensifying work in the railway construction. The parties are actively working on the implementation of a joint project for the construction of the China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway.

“An agreement has already been reached on the joint development of feasibility studies for the construction of the railway. The leadership of Kyrgyzstan is trying to implement the project as soon as possible. Therefore, all efforts of the Ministry of Transport and Communications are aimed at developing a feasibility study for the project as soon as possible”, the report says.
