Tashkent hosted the 17th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
According to the upper chamber of the Parliament, the meeting, which lasted two days and was held via videoconference, was attended by members of the Government, heads of agencies, as well as media workers.
The plenary session was chaired by the Chairperson of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva.
At the meeting, information was heard from the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection on the issue of cutting down trees and shrubs that are not part of the state forest fund.
The members of the Senate considered the laws “On ensuring the seismic safety of the population and the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the procedure for the provision of land plots and their use, as well as the system of land registration and maintenance of the state land cadaster”, “On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population”, “On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On licensing, authorization and notification procedures”, “On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with further improvement of the legal protection of intellectual property objects”, “On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the activities of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the International Agreement on Olive Oil and Table Olives (Geneva, October 9, 2015)”.
All the laws were approved by the senators.
At the plenary session, the senators also heard a report of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on Foreign Affairs, International Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism on the activities for 2020 – the first half of 2021.
In general, 19 issues were discussed at the plenary session, including 7 laws.
