20:32 / 2021-09-09

In Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to the issues of bringing the coverage of the population with higher education to 50 percent and improving the quality of education.

State universities will gradually switch to the independent determination of wages, the number of employees, the size of contracts and the form of training. To increase their financial stability, the social tax rate will be reduced from 25 to 12 percent, the released funds will be directed to the development of universities.

Students of private universities will also have the opportunity to receive educational loans for seven years. To improve students’ living conditions, dormitories for 100 thousand places will be built over the next five years.

The number of universities will be increased to 50 by 2026. Contributing to the further expansion of opportunities for creative-minded youth, El-Yurt Umidi Foundation will increase enrollment and expand referrals to foreign universities.
