Awarding ceremony of the winners of the project “Song of the year – 2014” was held at Istiqlol Arts Palace. Artists, writers and poets, representatives of the public, mentors and youth have been invited to the event which was organized for the first time by the Youth Centre of Culture and Arts together with the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan and several other organisations.

Artists, writers and poets, representatives of the public, mentors and youth have been invited to the event which was organized for the first time by the Youth Centre of Culture and Arts together with the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan and several other organisations.

The event participants noted that attention and care rendered under the leadership of President Islam Karimov to the development of national musical art are an important factor in the education of harmoniously developed generation.

In this age of globalization, the development of modern variety art on the basis of national values is taking on special significance. It places great responsibility on the representatives of the sphere of art.

In 2014, twenty of more than one hundred songs presented by Uzbeknavo Variety Association, TV and radio channels were selected to participate in this project. The jury assessed these songs based on criteria such as music, text and performance skills.

Music and art festivals, competitions, creative projects regularly held in the country play an important role in identifying talented young people and in the development of art. Thanks to such activities, many talented young people won prizes at prestigious international music competitions.

The purpose of the project “Song of the year – 2014” is to support young talents and to familiarize the general public with their creativity. At the same time, the project aimed at protecting the youth from the negative impact of "mass culture", from harmful ideas alien to our mentality and at the education of harmoniously developed generation.

The winners received diplomas and statuettes.

A concert was held with the participation of artists and creative young people.
