On September 12-13 this year, Bishkek hosted the 16th Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS member states on “Through the interaction of cultures - to the commonwealth and peace”.
More than 200 delegates from the Commonwealth countries took part in the event.
According to the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at plenary sessions and in specialized sections, experts in science, education, and art discussed new formats of cooperation in education, youth initiatives in volunteerism, and ways to develop intercultural dialogue. The forum participants devoted one of the discussions to the work of Chingiz Aitmatov and his influence on the spiritual and moral worldview of modern reality.

Also, within the framework of the event, a meeting of the Council of Heads of State News Agencies of the CIS and a roundtable discussion of heads of theater associations of the Commonwealth countries were held for the first time.
– This forum is one of the largest and most prestigious, during which the results of large-scale humanitarian ties are summed up, tasks are set for further improvement of plans for joint events, and new projects are developed within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, – said Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Murodjon Majidov. – This is also important in creating vast opportunities for mutually beneficial communication between science, culture, art, and literature representatives. We hope that the discussion platforms organized within the framework of the forum on special topics dedicated to culture and art, science and education, literature, and youth issues will give impetus to initiating new ideas and projects.
The laureates of the CIS interstate awards “Stars of the Commonwealth” and “Commonwealth of Debuts” were awarded at the event. A performance by the CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra took place.

It should be noted that the central panel discussion was devoted to the main theme of 2023 in the CIS, which was declared the Year of the Russian language as a means of interethnic communication.
Forums of creative and scientific intelligentsia are the main humanitarian event of the year in the Commonwealth. They are held alternately in the capitals of the CIS countries.
The forum organizers are the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan.
