150 thousand doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine were sent from Austria to Uzbekistan to support the fight against COVID-19.
According to the Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan to the OSCE and other international organizations in Vienna, the vaccine was provided by the Austrian government as a symbol of gratuitous assistance and strong friendship.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Austria Abat Fayzullayev together with representatives of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs took part in the ceremony of sending humanitarian cargo to Tashkent. The parties have provided for all aspects of the transportation of medical devices for the safe delivery of vaccines to the destination. The vaccine was placed in a special container refrigerator. It provides a cooling process and a temperature of 2-7 degrees.
Cargo delivery to Tashkent is carried out by Vie Pharma Handling Center's special transport service. The agreement on humanitarian assistance was reached during the visit of the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Michael Linhart to Uzbekistan on November 7-8 this year.
