On September 26, 2024, the Silk Roads Exhibition will open at the British Museum in London.
The exhibition, which is prominent in scope and massive in geographical scope, will demonstrate how the movement of people, objects, and ideas along the Silk Road contributed to the formation of culture and history. The project will focus on a defining period of history from 500 to 1000 AD.

Many of the items will be shown in London for the first time, including one of the most ancient sets of chess pieces and a monumental six-meter mural from the Hall of Ambassadors in Afrasiab.
Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation will present 14 exhibits from the Samarkand State Museum-Reserve and the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan for the Silk Roads exhibition. Among them: a wall painting of the Red Hall of the Varakhsha Palace, an ossuary with a lid, a silver dish with Sogdian inscriptions, a jug from Kafir Kala, and other unique archaeological finds demonstrating the importance of Central Asia in the history of the Silk Road.

The Silk Roads exhibition will run at the Sainsbury Exhibitions Gallery at the British Museum until February 23, 2025.
