1299 representatives of local and foreign media accredited

Issues related to the preparation for the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan were considered at the next meeting of the Central Election Commission. These include appeals received by the Central Election Commission during the preparation for the elections and issues related to the accreditation of observers from international organizations, foreign states, and media representatives.

Members of the Central Election Commission discussed measures taken on the appeals received by the CEC during the preparation for the elections, and a corresponding decision was made. As noted, the Central Election Commission responds to all appeals received from individuals and legal entities in a timely manner, based on the legislative documents, not a single request is ignored.

In accordance with the representations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 401 observers have been accredited from international organizations such as the OSCE/ODIHR, the Association of World Election Bodies, the CIS, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, and several foreign countries. According to the results of the consideration of appeals received by the Central Election Commission, 42 domestic media representatives were also accredited.    

The total number of observers from international organizations and foreign countries who will participate in the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan is 785 people, and the total number of representatives of local and foreign media is 1,299.
