The preservation of flora and fauna, the development of ecotourism and hunting tourism without compromising nature in the Aral Sea region is an urgent issue.
In recent years, measures have been taken in the Aral Sea region to prevent a global environmental problem and improve the social life of the population.
In 2018-2021, workers of Muynak district forestry and residents collected 5.8 thousand tons of saxaul seeds and desert plants. 1 million 525 thousand hectares were used to create a “green cover” – protective forests and 69 thousand hectares – for seedlings of desert plants.
In the next five years, it is planned to create 1 million hectares of green space on the dried-up bottom of the Aral Sea and in the Aral Sea region. In 2022, saxaul, kandym, karabulak will be planted. Seedlings adapted to the soil and climatic conditions are planted in Bostanlyk, Zaamin and Samarkand.

Areas along highways, railways and mahallas are being landscaped. In 2021, plantations of medicinal and food plants were established in forestry on an area of 5,000 hectares. The volume of production of raw materials from medicinal and food plants has reached 8000 tons. The number of cultivated species is 64.
