Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Environmental Protection, Narzullo Oblomuradov, announced this at a briefing organized before the OTS Summit.
“This year, an agreement was signed between the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Environmental Protection and GIZ on the implementation of the grant project “Climate Risk Management in Central Asia” worth 10 million euros”, says the Chairman of the Committee. – The main goal of this project of regional importance, which is planned to be implemented in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan in 2022-2026, is to further strengthen regional cooperation in managing the risks arising from climate change, in particular, the drying up of the Aral Sea.
