Children waiting for New Year most of all, one of reasons of it is the Presidential New Year Tree festivities annually organized at high level and give joy to thousands of boys and girls.

Children from Mehribonlik homes (orphanages) and children of soldiers who died while on service, and from low-income families took part in the event held in Fergana region.

Special attention in the region is being paid to the creation of all necessary conditions for the celebrations of New Year in peace and tranquility. A huge and festively decorated New Year tree was established on the alley named after Ahmad Fergani in the regional centre.

Cultural and educational activities are being held in all cities and districts, villages and mahallas. The traditional Presidential New Year Tree celebrations are also being conducted at the high level. The main festive event was held in the Theatre and Concert hall, recently opened in the city of Fergana. Boys and girls received gifts of the President.

The hokim (governor) of Fergana region Sh. Ganiev spoke at the event.
