Tashkent hosted several significant events: the 4th High-Level Dialogue for Asian Countries, the International Transport Forum (ITF), the Uzbekistan Airports International Aviation and Logistics Forum, and the 21st International Exhibition “Transport and Logistics – TransLogistica Uzbekistan 2025”.
“In line with the strategic priorities defined by the relevant Presidential decree, plans include increasing passenger traffic to 24 million people, raising the number of flights to 200,000, expanding the airport network through public-private partnerships, and beginning construction of a new international airport in Tashkent”, said Uzbekistan’s Minister of Transport, Ilhom Mahkamov. “These reforms aim to transform Uzbekistan into a modern aviation hub for the region, strengthen connectivity between Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, and deepen regional integration. The events held provide a platform for discussing regional and global issues, exchanging best practices, developing infrastructure, harmonizing approaches to digital transformation, and formulating practical recommendations”.
International Transport Forum Secretary-General Young Tae Kim emphasized that such events link strategic dialogue with practical solutions and open broad opportunities for the development of sustainable and interconnected transport infrastructure in Asia and Europe.
The International Transport Forum (ITF) unites 69 countries and serves as the leading intergovernmental analytical center in transport policy. Uzbekistan joined the ITF in 2020 and has since been actively participating in cooperation in the areas of freight logistics and connectivity.
