As part of his state visit to France, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo.

The President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated the Mayor on the successful hosting of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games and expressed gratitude for naming one of the streets in Paris after Samarkand. 

In response, Anne Hidalgo thanked the President of Uzbekistan for his support in ensuring public security during the Olympic events. 

At the meeting, the historic outcomes of the visit of the President of Uzbekistan, during which Uzbekistan and France elevated their multifaceted relations to the level of a strategic partnership, were highlighted with great satisfaction. 

Discussions also focused on enhancing practical cooperation and exchanges between Tashkent and Paris based on the recently signed agreement.

The discussions focused on exchanging experience in urban planning, developing green spaces, public transportation, digitalization, and the modernization and sustainable operation of urban infrastructure. 

Additionally, both sides explored opportunities for mutual exhibitions, cultural and artistic events, and tourist gastronomic festivals. 

Following the meeting, an official ceremony was held to name a street in Paris after Samarkand. 

The President of Uzbekistan and the Mayor of Paris also signed a joint document recognizing the Uzbekistan President’s visit to Paris as an honorary guest. This commemorative certificate will be displayed in the Paris City Hall museum collection.
