The 150th IPU Assembly is currently underway in Tashkent.

Promoting the development of relations between parliaments and facilitating joint activities to strengthen peace and cooperation is one of the primary tasks of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

A meeting of the Governing Council was held today within the framework of the Assembly. The meeting was chaired by the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Tulia Ackson.

An organizational issue was addressed in accordance with the event’s agenda. A proposal was put forward to elect the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, as President of the 150th IPU Assembly. The members of the Governing Council unanimously elected Tanzila Narbayeva’s candidacy.

The Chairperson of the Senate expressed gratitude for the trust.
