The 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union is currently taking place in Tashkent.
UzA correspondent spoke with Rizvan Nabiyev, a member of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan.
“I am pleased that the anniversary Assembly is being held in Uzbekistan, in the beautiful city of Tashkent”, said Rizvan Nabiyev. “We are very close, brotherly nations. Friendly and sincere relations have been established between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Our cooperation continues to deepen and strengthen each year, serving the interests of our people.
The event addresses important issues such as ensuring social justice and creating conditions for the protection of every individual’s rights. In today’s world, numerous conflicts and disagreements cause suffering for many. The Assembly has brought together representatives from over 180 countries, allowing for the exchange of ideas and experiences. We will also share the expertise accumulated in Azerbaijan.
Uzbekistan has organized this major international event at a very high level. The whole world is hearing the voice of the Assembly in Tashkent – global media are covering it extensively, and this attention will continue for a long time.
This is my fourth visit to Uzbekistan, and each time, I witness changes and progress. A high-level political dialogue has been established between the leaders of our two countries, aimed at mutual support within international organizations, including the UN, the OIC, and the Organization of Turkic States. Our close cooperation serves the development of our countries and the interests of our people.
