In the city of Abha, representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan met with the Governor of Aseer Province of Saudi Arabia, Prince Turki bin Talal Al Saud.
During the conversation, the Prince noted that in recent years, Uzbekistan has become a center for major international events, and its achievements have attracted the attention of the global community. He also emphasized the significant contribution of Uzbek scholars to the development of Islamic civilization and expressed his awareness of the reforms being implemented in the country.
Special attention was given to the introduction by the Government of Uzbekistan of a 30-day visa-free regime for citizens of Saudi Arabia. According to the regional governor, this measure is expected to contribute to the growth of tourist flows and trade turnover between the two countries.
The Uzbek side, in turn, put forward several initiatives to strengthen cooperation. In particular, discussions focused on the establishment of sister-city relations, the organization of a visit to Uzbekistan by a delegation from Aseer Province led by Prince Turki bin Talal Al Saud, as well as the expansion of supplies of Uzbek agricultural and textile products to the Saudi market. In addition, a proposal was made to intensify contacts between the chambers of commerce and business circles of both countries, including through participation in forums and exhibitions.
The regional governor fully supported these initiatives and confirmed readiness for their implementation.
