The delegation, led by Andrei Shevchenko, the Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Government and Northern Affairs of Russia, is on a working visit to Uzbekistan.

Tashkent region’s Hokim, Zoyir Mirzayev, met with members of the delegation at the Conference Hall Complex in New Tashkent. Welcoming the guests, the head of the region stressed that the traditional relations of friendship and strategic partnership between the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia are consistently strengthening.

The joint projects implemented in recent years by the regions of the two countries not only expand mutually beneficial economic cooperation, but also open up new opportunities in business, science, education, and the social sphere.

Issues related to the further development of economic cooperation, the implementation of new joint projects in industry, agriculture, and logistics, as well as the exchange of experience in local government and regional development, were thoroughly discussed at the meeting.

The parties expressed their readiness to intensify mutual contacts and to maximize the existing potential for implementing new socio-economic projects.
