Samarkand hosts the 21st Meeting of the Heads of Security and Intelligence Agencies of the CIS Member States.

This event, being held in Uzbekistan for the first time, is attended by the heads of security and intelligence services from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

An address by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the participants was delivered by Viktor Makhmudov, Secretary of the Security Council under the President. In his message, the Head of State emphasized that in the current global geopolitical environment, marked by escalating traditional challenges and the emergence of new threats, it is more important than ever to strengthen the unity and coordination of CIS countries on issues of international and regional security.

At the meeting, participants are exchanging views on current dangers and threats and discussing further measures to enhance cooperation among the intelligence agencies of the CIS member states.

Following the meeting, it is expected that the heads of delegations will identify specific tasks and priority areas for cooperation aimed at ensuring regional security.
