The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kongratbay Sharipov, held a meeting with the Director of the Goethe-Institut, Anna Bernsmeyer, and the Head of Language Department for the East and Central Asia Region, Tanja Olbrich.

The parties discussed the activities of the Goethe-Institut in Uzbekistan, the teaching of German in institutions of higher and vocational education, professional development for teachers, and the provision of educational institutions with the necessary literature and modern technical tools. They also reviewed the outcomes of summer internships organized in cooperation with tourism and hospitality colleges in Germany.

Minister Sharipov noted the high demand for learning the German language in the country. In this regard, new initiatives are being planned jointly with the Goethe-Institut to update curricula, improve teacher qualifications, and modernize educational resources.

Following the meeting, both sides agreed to expand cooperation and implement initiatives to develop German-language teaching and the vocational education system in Uzbekistan.
