Today, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted a major international conference on “Central Asia Facing the Challenges of Global Economic Transformation: Assessments and Forecasts”.
The event was organized in cooperation with UWED, the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation’s Regional Office for Central Asia (Germany), and the Institute for Advanced International Studies at the UWED.
The conference brought together prominent economists, politicians, public figures, scholars, sociologists, and anthropologists from Central Asian countries, Germany, China, India, and Azerbaijan.
Discussions focused on pressing issues such as shifts in the global economic and financial system, competition among major powers, energy exchange, and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.
Experts also analyzed how ongoing changes in the global economic landscape may affect the long-term sustainable development prospects of Central Asian countries. In particular, participants highlighted opportunities for leveraging digitalization, critical minerals, green technologies, and emerging innovation trends to drive new sources of economic growth and create modern jobs.
