Ankara hosts events marking the 585th anniversary of Alisher Navoi
Ceremonial events dedicated to the legacy of Alisher Navoi were held in Ankara, Türkiye.

On the occasion of the 585th anniversary of Alisher Navoi, a wreath-laying ceremony took place at the poet’s monument in Ankara.

The event was attended by representatives of the General Secretariat of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Türkiye, the administration of the Keçiören district of Ankara, as well as Navoi scholars, poets, and writers from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Turkmenistan.

During the ceremony, it was noted that the works of Alisher Navoi hold boundless significance not only as examples of artistic excellence, philosophical depth, and scholarly perfection, but also as a spiritual treasure that unites people and enriches the human spirit and consciousness.

A scientific conference titled “Alisher Navoi and the Turkic World” was held at the Social Sciences University of Ankara on the occasion of the 585th anniversary of the great poet.

The event was organized in cooperation with TURKSOY, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Türkiye, the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, the Writers’ Union of Türkiye, and the Social Sciences University of Ankara.
The conference featured speeches by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan and People’s Writer of Uzbekistan Sirojiddin Sayyid, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Türkiye Ilhom Khaydarov, and Rector of the Social Sciences University of Ankara, Professor Musa Kazım Arıcan.
