The expansion of international cooperation in healthcare, the introduction of best practices, and improving the quality of medical services have become one of the priorities in Uzbekistan. To this end, a delegation from the People’s Republic of China visited the National Medical Center of Uzbekistan.
Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Farkhod Toshpulatov, and Director of the National Medical Center, Maqsud Saidov, welcomed the guests.
During the visit, the delegation became familiar with the condition of patients after operations in the ophthalmology department. The operation of operating rooms equipped with advanced equipment was studied. Bilateral talks were also held.
The Chinese delegation provided humanitarian assistance in ophthalmology. In particular, artificial lenses, modern surgical devices, sterilizers, lancets and biometric devices were transferred to the center.
During the negotiations, an initiative was proposed to establish a joint simulation center based on the National Medical Center. It is planned to train doctors in modern surgical methods, conduct masterclasses, and enhance the quality of medical care to meet international standards at this center.
Cooperation was also established between the National Medical Center and the clinic of Anhui Province (China). As part of the cooperation, it was decided to conduct joint scientific and practical work in ophthalmology, share experiences, and enhance the qualifications of doctors.
This visit demonstrates that friendly relations between Uzbekistan and China have reached a new level in the healthcare sector. The negotiations and agreements reached at the National Medical Center are an essential step not only in improving the quality of medical services but also in developing the professional skills of doctors, as well as in introducing new technologies.
