The 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is currently underway in the capital of Uzbekistan. This historic event has brought together delegations from over 140 countries, with a total of more than 1,500 participants – a record for gatherings of this kind.

One of the participants is Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, a member of the UAE Federal National Council and Chairman of the Defense Affairs, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Council. In his remarks, he expressed gratitude to the host country and emphasized the significance of this international forum.

“At the beginning of my speech, I would like to extend my deep appreciation to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the parliament, and the people of Uzbekistan for their warm welcome, hospitality, and respect. This has laid the foundation for an open and constructive dialogue among the assembly’s participants”, he stated.

According to the parliamentarian, holding the 150th Assembly in Tashkent carries deep symbolic meaning, as Uzbekistan is now actively promoting the ideals of peace, cooperation, and parliamentary diplomacy on the international stage.

“I wish the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva great success at this international forum. Events like this serve as a model for how open intergovernmental dialogue should be conducted – for the sake of a sustainable future and the common good”, the UAE representative added.

Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi emphasized that the large number of delegates in attendance reflects Uzbekistan’s growing authority as a reliable partner and active participant in global affairs.

“Today, we see over 1,500 participants gathered on this platform. This is not just a number – it is a reflection of the trust, interest, and respect toward the host country. Tashkent has brought together heads of parliaments, political leaders, experts, and representatives of international organizations. The Republic of Uzbekistan has managed to unite them all, and as someone who has taken part in numerous international meetings, I can confidently say this is a great success. Congratulations”, emphasized Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi.

According to the guest, the assembly being held in Uzbekistan demonstrates how parliamentary diplomacy can serve as an effective platform for addressing pressing international challenges, as well as for strengthening peace and mutual understanding between nations.
