From April 5 to 9 this year, Uzbekistan will host the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). This international forum is notable for being organized for the first time not only in Uzbekistan but also throughout Central Asia.

The Assembly, which will become a significant historical event in Uzbekistan’s socio-political life, will bring together representatives from approximately 200 countries and parliamentarians from around the world.

On this occasion, the Institute for Parliamentary Studies has prepared a brochure titled “The Inter-Parliamentary Union: Status, Strategic Objectives, and Cooperation with Uzbekistan”.

The brochure describes the activities of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, including its primary areas of focus, organizational structure, and strategic goals. It also analyzes Uzbekistan’s involvement within the organization, the degree of participation of the national parliament, and the outcomes achieved through cooperation. The brochure will serve as a valuable resource for obtaining detailed information and a deeper understanding of this prestigious organization’s work.

The Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union will address critical issues, including human rights, the rule of law, youth support, poverty alleviation, social protection, inclusivity, decent employment, gender equality, and advancements in science and technology. Seminars on climate change, women’s health, and parliamentary diplomacy are also scheduled to take place.

Hosting this prestigious forum in Uzbekistan demonstrates international trust and recognition of the key reforms and foreign policy initiatives being implemented in the country.
