In the first round of the tournament, Uzbekistan’s experienced chess player drew with Gawain Maroroa Jones from England. In the next five rounds, he successfully competed against Abhimanyu Mishra from the U.S., Nikita Vitiugov from Russia, defending the honor of England, and 54-year-old British champion Michael Adams.
Today, as part of the seventh round, N. Abdusattarov will face Luke McShane from England.
The winners of the XTX Markets London Chess Classic 2025, consisting of nine rounds, will be determined on December 5.
