Samarkand hosted an exhibition of handicrafts “Silk Road Bazaar”.

The event was attended by 60 artisans from Karakalpakstan, regions, and Tashkent city.

“We demonstrate unique handmade products made by artisans to local and foreign tourists who have arrived in our ancient city”, said Umid Hakimov, Head of Samarkand Regional Branch of the Hunarmand Association. “Guests can buy souvenirs and other products”.

Shoira Ganiyeva an artisan from Samarkand, held a masterclass on stuffing patterns on silk fabric with natural paints.

A craftswoman from Tashkent Roziya Jamanazarova demonstrated hats and shoes made from Australian sheep wool.

The book “Ancestral Heritage: History, Traditions, Experience” was also presented during the exhibition.
