Baku hosts the Third Festival of Literature and Books of the Turkic World. Each day of the festival is dedicated to one country. May 25 was devoted to Uzbekistan. The event was attended by scientists from Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, representatives of science, and other honored guests.
The President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Isa Habibbeyli, opened the Uzbekistan Day and noted the great contribution made by the heads of the two states, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev, to the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
A presentation of the translation of the work of the Hero of Uzbekistan Erkin Vakhidov “Suz Latofati” (“Beauty of the Word”) into the Azerbaijani language took place.
Ambassador Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov noted that tasks such as the consistent development of science, education, culture, art, and literature in Uzbekistan, comprehensive support for scientists and creative workers in a market economy, and improving the culture of reading have become a priority of the country’s state policy.
It was noted that the famous Uzbek poet and public figure Erkin Vakhidov significantly contributed to spreading the glory of our history and literature abroad.
Following the event, future joint projects were discussed with Azerbaijani literary scholars.
