Uzbekistan – Georgia Business Forum
The Uzbekistan – Georgia Business Forum, dedicated to advancing trade, economic, investment, and industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia, was held in Tbilisi.
The forum was opened by Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The event brought together about 300 representatives from companies, financial institutions, free industrial zones, industry associations, and consulting organizations from the two countries.
Uzbekistan’s investment potential, the conditions in the country for foreign investors, and the results of the ongoing economic reforms were presented.
Forum participants discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, increasing bilateral trade to $1 billion, developing industrial cooperation, and implementing joint production and investment projects.
Particular attention was paid to prospects for cooperation in transport and logistics, including the effective use of the Middle Corridor, the establishment of a trade, logistics, and production hub in the Poti Free Industrial Zone, and the expansion of cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, the agro-industrial sector, energy, electrical engineering, and digital services and information technology.
The parties exchanged views on tourism development, financial cooperation, and industrial collaboration. B2B and G2B meetings were held, during which promising investment projects were discussed.
A package of bilateral documents to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia was signed.
