Uzbekistan expands its e-commerce market
A two-day seminar titled “Strengthening Uzbekistan’s digital future: e-commerce trends, legal framework, and global opportunities” has begun at the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship in Tashkent. The event is dedicated to discussing promising directions for the development of the e-commerce sector in Uzbekistan.
The seminar, organized with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), brought together leading international experts, as well as representatives of ministries, government agencies, and business entities, to promote international cooperation in the field of e-commerce.
Participants received detailed information on the development of e-commerce, cross-border trade practices, and the latest legal and regulatory standards, all aimed at shaping a sustainable, future-oriented digital economy.
The seminar was opened by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Umid Abidkhodjayev, the Deputy Director of the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship Mirkomil Odilov, and Senior Counsel at the ADB Law & Policy Reform Department Hannah Lim.
During the event, sessions and B2B platforms were organized to discuss market trends, digital marketing, changes in regulatory frameworks, and the responsibilities of key market participants.
Special attention was given to the application of artificial intelligence in e-commerce, as well as a comparative legal analysis between China and Uzbekistan in this area.
Expert presentations provided an opportunity to examine the key technological aspects of using e-commerce tools to expand business trade opportunities and access new markets. The participants also analyzed the advanced technologies employed by leading international companies that successfully operate on global online trading platforms.
