The strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan is strengthening
Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with Kenji Hirata, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan.
The head of the upper chamber of parliament sincerely congratulated Kenji Hirata on his appointment to such a high post and expressed confidence that his extensive diplomatic experience would strengthen the friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan.
The steady development of relations between Uzbekistan and Japan was noted. Thanks to the political will of the heads of state, bilateral cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level.
The importance of ensuring the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the dialogue, further intensifying interparliamentary cooperation, increasing the effectiveness of interparliamentary cooperation groups’ activities, and expanding interregional ties was emphasized.

Issues of trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as the intensification of cultural and humanitarian exchanges, were discussed.
The Senate Chairperson invited the Ambassador to participate in the 2nd Asian Women’s Forum, to be held in Bukhara on May 14-15. Information was also provided on the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, which is planned to be held in Samarkand in September.
The parties confirmed their readiness to expand multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.
